Pastor Charlie Williams III was born February 7, 1961 to the late Charlie Williams Jr. & Mrs. Ella Mae Williams. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and receive his high school education at the Lake Charles High School in 1979. After he completed high school, he went on to the College of the Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas. During this time, he completed many courses such as: Bible Study Methods, Principles of Teaching, Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Survey of Epistles and also a course in grant writing for community development projects.
He has been married to Mrs. Janise Marie Williams for 29 years. God has blessed them with 3 handsome sons Charlie Williams IV, Kelvin Jerome Williams and Justin Keith Williams, and 3 daughter-in-laws. He is the proud grandfather of 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
Pastor Williams was born and raised in the church. At the young age of 18, he was appointed as Deacon under the leadership of Elder Rogers Cain of Philadelphia Church of God in Christ. He receive his call to the ministry in 1994 under the leadership of Elder Ivanhoe Terry of the Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ, where he served as the Youth YPWW Teacher, New Members Teacher, Coordinator of the InReach/Outreach Ministry, Van Ministry and also Bass Guitar Player.
As a minister, being led by God he resigned from his former church, Saints Memorial COGIC in the month of August 1997. At that time he consecrated, meditated and prepared himself and his family for what God had predestined for them. He stepped out on faith and purchased the former Heritage Baptist Church, located at 1535 Kirkman Street on Sept. 13, 1997, where he named the new ministry "Word of Hope Family Worship Center."
In October of 2003, Word of Hope began to outgrow the facilities on 1535 Kirkman Street and furthered their Sunday Morning Schedules to the Lake Charles Boston Auditorium, located at 1509 Enterprise Blvd., in hope to build a much larger facility. Through Pastor Charlie Williams, Word of Hope has become a light that sits on a hill and cannot be hidden. He is teaching people that THERE IS HOPE in God's Word.
Pastor Williams is the proud full time pastor of the Word of Hope Family Worship Center and has been committed to building strong families, healthy marriages, good fathers, Godly children and christian homes. He is a teacher, preacher, a motivator and an exalter. He preaches and uncompromising gospel that challenges the hearts of people causing them to live a life pleasing to God. He also instructs seminars on many subjects such as Marriage, Finance, Child Rearing, Christian Living, Fatherhood, What Makes a Man, Youth Empowerment, etc.
God has equipped Pastor Williams with a great gift of Administration where he uses it for the up building of God's Kingdom. He loves the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul and strength. He often says that if it weren't for the Lord on my side, he would be nothing. His motto is "Dream Big & Work Hard."
